- Lightweight (7oz), great for backpacking.
- Cheap compared to some of the more popular brands; maybe not as durable but in my case I will only wear them a few times a year so I don't foresee any issues. (though might be durable enough, I haven't tried them in the field yet).
- Waterproof: I poured water on them, and the inside did not even get damp. If however I try to push air through the fabric (holding my mouth against it) a tiny amount of air does go thru. So they are somewhat "breathable". Will be nice for winter backpacking too.
Don't like:
- They are a bit noisy and feel like a piece of thin "cardboard" (see video). Not a deal breaker to me though.
- I usually wear size Large pants (US waist 34, length 30 - I'm 5'9, 170lbs), but these are Medium, and fit me at the waist like normal Large pants would. The legs are baggy enough to allow for another pair of thick pants under. A Large would also work since the waist is elastic, though the legs may be even more baggy then. But either would be fine for a backpacking trip.
